Do you push your limits?

Crown Point- Portland, Oregon

We all crave connection and community. I know that's one of the reasons I created my blog, because I felt I needed to have my thoughts out there in the open for people to read. Connection is essential to happiness and feelings of well being. Seriously, when you go out look at how much you're in contact with the people around you. Maybe you order a drink from your local coffee shop and in the passing of the drink your fingers tips meet or your at work and someone takes the time to ask how you're doing. The awesome part about community is that you get to choose(for the most part). "You are who you surround yourself with" I know this sounds like such a clique, but in every sense it's true! When you surround yourself with victims and people who believe that they have no power to change their circumstances you begin to believe the same. When you surround yourself with people who see the negative all the time, who complain about their jobs, city, partners, weight and what ever else you will likely follow suit or exhaust yourself fighting it. I used to hang with the wrong crowd. They all didn't really do anything with there lives, didn't have a plan, only worried about partying and having a good time. I realize now that there's so much more to life then living in the past and you just have to seize the day.  In return, if you surround yourself with people who are on fire for life and are seizing the possibilities you will be more inclined to do the same. When you are around growing and learning people who challenging themselves you will mostly likely follow along. Choose your squad, if you can't find one you like, BUILD IT. Never settle and if shit gets negative or people are not living in the solution, move on and find a new crew.

We all have so much to be grateful for. Life is what we make it; the key is to focus on the positivity around us, instead of losing site and getting sidetracked by the fears of the unknown. All it takes is a open mind and heart to see things for what they are. I never want to be the girl that just exists anymore, I want to adventure and have passion. I want to build a life that i'm excited to wake up in the morning and be content and excited for the days to come. This takes work. It takes focusing on where I have been and where I am now, along with where I want to go. What you focus on grows, so focusing on the right things is what counts.

So many people stop them selves from accomplishing what they want to accomplish because they don't push there limits. Most of the things holding us back are unrealistic beliefs, that we have come up with through our relationships with friends and family, jobs we have had, and things we have gone through or witnessed. There are so many people around the world living successfully and happy because they didn't stop when an obstacle came upon them. I know I've been struggling with school. I've been trying to decide what I want to do and I have a interest that I know i'd be good at and love, but theres just a few obstacles in my way. But taking my own advice I am going to take a leap of faith and believe that I can do it. We have to continually challenge what we believe and push ourselves out of the boundaries we and society have set for us. Turn that "I don't know if I can do it" or "that looks to difficult" to "how can I make this happen" or "how can I make this not difficult".

I've been wanting to write a post about pushing your limits and having positivity because I see so many people my age that lack courage and feel a little lost in there skin. Around this age we are pushed by our elders to know what we want to do and start pursuing it strait out of high school. Some of us actually have no idea what to do, but you have to do something you can't just sit around like a mope a feel sorry for yourself. I know I've done that. So I challenge you to get motivated and start doing instead of making excuses!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!
